Female Harmony Society's
200th Anniversary Celebration

Vivian Flagg

In 2013, FHS members talked with Vivian Flagg, a life-long member of Hanover Presbyterian Church, the daughter of a Wilmington milliner, and a collector of historically interesting dolls. Vivian Flagg passed away in January 2015, at the age of 102.

Hanover Church by Robert Shaw

The picture on the home page of the Female Harmony Society web site is a painting of Hanover Street Presbyterian Church, when it was located at Sixth and Hanover Streets (now know as King Street) in Wilmington, Delaware.  The Female Harmony Society was particularly active, during the time frame depicted in the painting.  The painting was done by Robert Shaw and the original now hangs in the Hanover Presbyterian Church office, now located at 1801 N. Jefferson Street in Wilmington.  The painting was done for the Reverend Lafayette Marks, pastor from 1869 to 1898.  His family donated the picture to Hanover Church.
